Home to the Proby family since 1660, Elton Hall is an enchanting house that has evolved throughout the centuries in a fascinating amalgamation of styles. Each room is packed with treasures – porcelain, magnificent furniture and fine paintings from mid -15th century Old Masters to remarkable 19th century works. The Library is one of the largest in private ownership and possesses wonderful treasures such as Henry VIII’s prayer book. Our visit starts with morning refreshments at the Mulberry Café located in the Bosworth’s Garden Centre situated within the Estate’s old walled vegetable garden. In groups of 15, you then enjoy an hour-long private tour of the Hall led by a knowledgeable and experienced house guide. We return to the Mulberry Café for lunch before having time at leisure to visit the beautiful gardens. First laid out in the 1730’s, the formal gardens have been lovingly restored by the present owners over the past 40 years. Winner of Historic Houses Garden of the Year Judges’ Choice Award 2021, they include mature topiary, a Gothic Orangery a flower garden with herbaceous borders, sunken garden, shrub garden and box walk.
Please note – The Hall is not suitable for wheelchairs or mobility aids. There are several flights of steps, which may be an issue for those with walking difficulties and there is no visitor seating available within the Hall.
