Welcome aboard this holiday featuring some of the most scenic waterways of Scotland. Sail to the pretty Isle of Bute for an included visit to Mount Stuart. Also included is a sailing to Dunoon for a garden visit and scenic drive together with a ride on the fantastic Falkirk Wheel and cruise on the Firth of Forth.

Monday: With an early start and using the motorways, with suitable stops along the way we aim to be at our hotel in Lanarkshire late afternoon.

Tuesday: A full day excursion to the Isle of Bute sailing from Wemyss Bay to Rothesay. We enjoy a scenic tour of the island with a stop at Mount Stuart House and Gardens, an outstanding and flamboyant Victorian, Gothic style mansion with beautiful gardens.

Wednesday: After breakfast we take the ferry across the Clyde to Dunoon on the Cowal Peninsula. Here we visit Benmore Botanic Garden, dramatically set in the mountains of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Highlights include the great Redwood Avenue, the Formal Garden, and the Chilean Rainforest Glade. Leaving the gardens, we enjoy a scenic drive this afternoon, taking us along the shores of Loch Eck and Loch Fyne, over The Rest and be Thankful pass to the shores of Loch Lomond. Time permitting there will be a brief stop at Luss before returning to our hotel.

Thursday: This morning we travel to Falkirk for a fascinating ride on the Falkirk Wheel. Built to commemorate the Millennium and as link between the Forth and Clyde Canal and the Union Canal. We then continue to South Queensferry and board the Forth Belle for a sightseeing cruise on the Firth of Forth. Enjoy unrivalled views of Incholm Island and the Forth Bridges whilst listening to the guided commentary.

Friday: Our homeward journey will also be via the motorways. With suitable stops along the way we hope to be back in Essex late afternoon/early evening.

Please read the itinerary carefully before deciding if this tour will be suitable for you:
1) The first and last days have early starts and long periods (around 3 hours at a time) on the coach.
2) There are steps and uneven surfaces at both garden visits, on the ferries, boat cruise and Falkirk Wheel.
3) Some rooms at the hotel are a long walk from reception.
4) C & J Tours cannot be held responsible if weather or technical issues cause problems to any of the ferry crossings, Forth cruise or Falkirk Wheel, resulting in them being delayed or cancelled.
