Tuesday: After breakfast we drive across Pembrokeshire and enjoy a visit to The Lovespoon Workshop. Here the Thomas family are dedicated to producing authentic Welsh Lovespoons, using many of the original principles of this centuries old tradition. Watch a traditional hand carving demonstration, have a look at the unique collection of Lovespoons. Perhaps purchase a Lovespoon for a loved one or special occasion. From here it is just a short drive to the delightful little harbour town and resort of Tenby. Walk along the South Beach for fantastic views of Caldey Island, wander along the harbour, where you can board one of the cruises to the island. Stroll the narrow cobbled streets or sit in one of the many cafes and people watch.
Wednesday: Today we enjoy a scenic drive through the Pembrokeshire National Park. Our first visit is to the fascinating little village of Cenarth. The focus of the village is Cenarth Falls, a series of small waterfalls and pools on the river Teifi and a well known salmon leap. There is also the Coracle Museum (entrance not included) located in the mill overlooking the falls. We then continue our scenic drive, passing Fishguard as we make our way to St David’s. Thursday: Our excursion today takes us along Cardigan Bay to Aberystwyth, the cultural capital of Wales and home to the National Library, University and Arts Centre. Take a stroll along the Victorian promenade, perhaps take the longest cliff railway in the world to the summit of Constitution Hill and enjoy the fantastic views and visit the world’s largest camera obscura. This afternoon we board the Rheidol Railway for an unforgettable train journey through the spectacular Rheidol Valley to Devils Bridge. Rejoining our coach we return to the hotel after a memorable day out.
Friday: Leaving our hotel after breakfast we again join the motorway make our way home. With suitable stops along the way we aim to be back home late afternoon/early evening.
