Join us for an interesting and relaxing day as we visit The Suffolk Punch Trust. The Suffolk Punch horse is the oldest English breed of working horse. The Trust was founded to help protect this critically endangered Suffolk horse through its established breeding programme, raising public awareness and training a new generation of professionals to work with these iconic heavy horses. Today, the Suffolk Punch Trust is home to around 20 to 30 of these magnificent horses, which is remarkable when you consider that there are only around 430 of the breed left in the world. As well as the horses the Trust has a museum with a magnificent collection of artefacts showing various aspects of rural Suffolk life. Our visit includes a short welcome talk about the Trust and the horses followed by a tractor-trailer ride around the farm. There will be time to explore the Museum, an opportunity to view the horses at close quarters and to see a demonstration of the horses at work. Also included is a light lunch – a bowl of soup and a sandwich followed by a slice of cake from a freshly baked selection. During the afternoon, there will be time to re-visit any area of interest, enjoy a walk around the site, visit the Heritage Garden and gift shop.
Price: £52.00 includes return travel by luxury coach, visit to the Suffolk Punch Trust with welcome talk, tractor-trailer ride, demonstration of the horses at work, time to visit the museum and garden and a buffet lunch. (Please state any dietary requirements at time of booking.)
Due to the coronavirus pandemic this excursion has been rescheduled for Monday 5th October
