Today we visit the seaside resort of Aldeburgh, world renowned for its connection with the famous Suffolk composer, Benjamin Britten. Pastel-coloured 19th century holiday villas line the promenade and to the east the pebble beach with fisherman’s hut selling the daily catch. Whilst here why not visit the Red House where Benjamin Britten and his partner Peter Pears once lived and worked. Discover the Martello Tower, the largest and most northerly of the Martello Towers. Take a look at The Scallop sculpture, created by local artist, Maggi Hambling and dedicated to Benjamin Britten. Aldeburgh is a great place for some retail therapy with high street favourites and lovely independent shops. No visit to Aldeburgh would be complete without tasting some of the famous fish and chips. Aldeburgh is king of the fish and chips, boasting three amazing shops, The Aldeburgh Fish and Chip Shop, The Golden Galleon and The Upper Deck. Each slightly different, with their own unique character, all with the same great taste with their own freshly caught fish and locally grown potatoes.
Price: £21.00 includes return travel by luxury coach with free time in Aldeburgh.
